There is no peace, but in God…

I read about how an Hindu Priest in London, Rahil Patel, met God. He had been searching for God in so many ways for 20 years. Read so many self-help books. He had heard so many preachers, and gone to many seminars. He had become frustrated, and was about to pack up his seeking God. He was about to give up on this quest. Some three weeks later, he wandered around London, looking to walk to the West End. It was a brisk Sunday morning. In time, he found himself before St Pauls’ cathedral. He saw people on this Sunday morning with smiles, all standing at the front of a door. And so he decided to go in and see what was happening. As soon as he went through the door, in the foyer, he felt this rush of peace come over him. He then heard this almost quiet voice say to him, ‘You are home.’

He decided to go upstairs to sit in a secluded place and take everything in. He looked as the people spoke to each other in happy voices. He had never been in a Christian worship experience, but the worship: the drums, the guitar and all the instruments coming together made sense to him. The preaching made sense. And so afterwards, rather than going to the West End as he had purposed, he went back to his hotel room, knelt down and gave his life to Christ.

After this experience, he started attending church. And that was the start of his journey with God. Now he speaks of his experience all over the world.
His testimony truly blessed me, because there is a reaching in that only God can do. We can search and search, but there is no peace where we are searching. No self-help books will ever be able to do the trick of giving us peace or self worth. Think of the name: self-help. You cannot help yourself; and those pricey seminars on self-help are just spewing empty promises. And yet only God can draw us near to Himself. If you are searching today, I encourage you to follow your heart and listen out to God. Because nothing else will ever satisfy you, just like nothing else satisfied Rahil. God is reaching out today, just as He drew Rahil to St Pauls’ Cathedral, He wants to draw on your heart also. There is a place of kneeling He wants to take you; where you will give Him back the gift He gave you first, WHICH IS YOUR LIFE. When and only when you come to that place, will you know peace in your life. And then the relationship begins between you and Him.

I want to encourage you to get to that place; to the place of your knees and give Him your life. God will draw you to only that place. He is not able to draw you to anywhere else, but to HIMSELF.
