7.5 billion possible souls
7.5 Billion souls!
Can you imagine what that looks like! 7.5 billion people! That is how many estimated people are living on the planet today. According to the United Nations, there will be 9.7 people by 2050 and 11 billion by 2100. Have you ever thought of that?
Can you imagine all of these people coming together to Christ? Paul said this much in Ephesians 3 that he was sent to the Gentiles, so they could get to God through Jesus. Paul’s ministry was that which beaconed all; no Jew, no Greek. No slave, no free. Jesus’ coming was the door through which 7.5 billion could go through. The plan is that the Gospel will go to all peoples, and that none of the 7.5 billion will say they did not hear the word of God; they did not hear of the Good News. The plan is that all 7.5 billion will have a chance of getting into heaven. Yes, God’s plan is that all 7.5 billion will have a chance to taste of the love of God.
And how will they taste of the love of God? By experiencing the lives of those who have already tasted of Him. What a responsibility we have to carry love, to be in love with Him so passionately that we can love. To love and look past fault lines…
Do you know something that tickles me, the 7.5 billion are of all faiths, all creed, all color, all backgrounds. There is nothing monolithic about this crowd. And so we have such a big task that we will certainly fail in – if we have no love. In fact scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 that we will fail in a colossal manner in our walk without the love of God in our hearts. We could prophesy till kingdom comes, but without the love for all these different people that make this gigantic 7.5 billion – we are a sounding cymbal, very displeasing to God.
We cannot impact anything, without the love of God!
Of course, not all 7.5 billion will get into heaven. And yet with you and I walking in love with all, more would than not!
