God needs your donkey
We are in the Easter season; and what He did for us makes us think, swallow hard and consider our ways. It forces us to reflect on His love for us, and most importantly, His love for God. It actually enables me to see more clearly my inadequacies, fault-lines, weaknesses, and the power of His love.
God’s love for us must stop us in our tracks today!
I am reminded of when Jesus was going to ride into Jerusalem in Mark 11: 1-11. He was in need of what to ride on. Remember that Jesus was and is a King. He could have ridden a horse. He chose a colt – a donkey! Even such an abase animal He did not own. And yet the Psalm 50:10 says God owns a cattle on a thousand hills. That means He owns everything. In fact, He owns everything you own, and then He turned around and gave them to you!
Despite His seeming lack, Jesus trusted that people would release what they have into His hands when He needed it. And so He sent His followers into the city to go in and retrieve a tied colt. And if the owner wondered about their infringement, they were to say, ‘The Lord has need of it.’
I want to tell you that God has a need of what you own today. God’s will must be fulfilled here on earth. It is God’s heart that people will be saved and set free of the oppression of the devil. God will do it! To do it, there will always be a need! I encourage you to make your resources, time, indeed life available for God to use. Get involved with God’s agenda. We all have a donkey! God needs our donkey today!
