Our troubles are light and momentary

2 Cor 5:14 our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us a eternal glory that far out weight them all.

Look at the qualifier here for our troubles that we encounter on a daily basis; light and momentary. They are light, not heavy, not unbearable, but light. We can lift them through the help of the Holy Spirit. I love Psalm 9:9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Which means trouble will come, but He is our stronghold. He will surround us and protect us, and overshadow us. He will be the epicenter of our protection.

Many of us refuse to quantify our troubles as small. We, like the Israelites, see our issues as great and mighty. At times we see them insurmountable. We see ourselves at a loss, with no leverage. The name of the Lord is a leverage. The blood of Jesus is a leverage. Our faith in God is a leverage. Our daily faith walk is a leverage. The word of God is a leverage. We are not at a loss. I believe we must have a mind shift, and ask this question: what is this problem really for? What is its purpose in my life today? Is it actually working for my good? Is it achieving an eternal glory that far outweighs the issue? It must!

Look again at those aspects of your life that are working for you. Note, I said working for you. That horrible boss is making you a better person, and maybe he or she will push you into starting your own business. That landlord will push you into buying your own home. That seeming sickness will be your Lazarus coming forth. Look, they are light and momentary.

And so the idea is to stop putting my head in the sand saying, ‘woe is me.’. The idea is to say to the problem, ‘Hey, why are you happening? What are you working for to bring about for my good?’

It took me a while, but I finally got it! God has to use something to bring about His glory! You remember there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee according to John 2:1-12. And over the course of the celebration, the wine ran out. This was a no no! The wine was not supposed to run-out. It should flow, until all guests were satisfied. And yet the wine did run out; and the guests were not satisfied; and it would have been an embarrassing moment. But if the wine had not run out, the water could not have been turned into wine. Just like in your life, if a need does not arise, a supplication cannot be provided. If you do not have a mountain, then there is nothing to cast into the sea; if there are no dry bones, there will be no standing mighty army. God has to use something; and He has chosen the weak instruments.

These weak instruments can be any issue, pain point, need, situation that needs fixing. We thank God that in our weakness, He is made strong. Amen.
