Evening stillness – Me time
In the still and quiet calm of the evening, I sense you near. I become aware of you, Lord, and can focus my thoughts on you. I know you are here.
Help me to learn; that the one time in life when it is totally and completely a good and acceptable thing to be selfish with my time; is when I’m running from the cares of this life, into your arms of love.
I ask you to carry my burdens; I’m now able to put my worries aside. Drinking in your love; the stress of life, learning and growing are stilled. Only the sweet relief of stillness remains.
Help me, Lord, to remember this…to run to this place with you, where I can be close close to your heart. It is here and only here that my strength is renewed—I can rise with wings of eagles.
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Isa. 40:31ESV
