Having a form of godliness
We can have an appearance of godliness; this can be worked out by us attending church, knowing Christian doctrine, using Christian clichés, and following Christian traditions. These practices can make a person look good, but if our inner attitudes of belief, love and worship are lacking, the outer appearance is meaningless to us and to God. Paul gives a warning not to be deceived by appearances. It may be difficult to distinguish these attitudes in ourselves and in others at first, but our daily behaviors will give us away. We must watch out for the characteristics described in 2 Timothy 3:2-4: it says in the last days difficult times are coming and we are in those times now; so we must guard against these ungodly attitudes.
We thank God for sending us the Helper; the Holy Spirit, to keep us in these times. We must put what we learn in the Bible and what we hear which is being taught and biblically sound into action; let us truly live for God inside and out, so that others can see Jesus Christ in us. No forms; simply the real deal.
