I rest in You
When I can’t reach the ocean to breathe in the salt air or hear the roar of the white capped waves, I rest in You.
When I can’t feel the warmth of the sun kissing my skin or the breeze chasing around me, I rest in You.
You always lead me to a place where I can rest. A secret place.
My spirit knows this place. The place of refuge and rest. The place of revelation and refreshing.
I may look with my natural eye and not see a place that is green, lush, sandy or filled with water as far as the eye can see, but I rest in You.
I rest in the place where I am safe. The place where the heat of the enemy shall not scorch me or the fierce winds of the adversary shall not bite me.
I recline on You relieving the weight of the world that treads on my mind and my heart.
I rest in the shelter of Your bosom to hear Your heart beat and the whisper of the words You breathe.
“Rest, I am with here with you” You say
“You are my joy” You say.
“I love you” You say.
You are my strength when I am weak. You are my drink when I am thirsty and my bread when I am hungry.
You are my rest!
