Inner Man Elated

Father,
My outward-man is perishing
Being beaten
Broken
Scared
Reviled at
Awash with hurt, streaming with blood
Still
My inner-man
Is being renewed
Elated
Singing songs of praise
Worshipping the Lord who saves

And my outward-man
Though being broken
Is for a fleeting moment
Yet it is immensely successful
In its working
As it is building
An exceeding glory for me
Yes, Lord
My inner-man is elated!
