Love’s sweet longings

I believe there has always been a place in my heart no one could touch—a place reserved only for you—a place longing for your touch, your voice, your heart.

Now I know in my darkness you were there. Your hand was upon me…your patience in my trials and your peace through every storm.

I longed for you in blindness, I longed for you in the dark. I searched wherever I could go, to find my longed for light.

But, all the while you drew me, with longings never spoken. You drew me with your cords of love, wrapped round me in the midst.

Ah…love’s sweet longing found me, yes love’s enduring strength. It swept in between the tossing waves, of my unending storms.

Until your love; it washed me upon the shores to rest. It was there you sat waiting for my eyes to see…my heart to open up.

I lay now, head upon your knee, eyes closed to torrents that rend. I rest now, knowing that your love has and will; always and forever be with me.
