Revival in America

Many speak of revival as a phenomenon, a feeling, a jerking, rolling on the floor moment, a healing episode, speaking in tongues, shouting the loudest; even according to one church in Florida – a laughter moment.

As much as there could be an outward display during revival – God help us if that is all there is. If all we have is the laughing, or the crying, or the rolling, or the barking – then it is not revival.

Revival purposed by God is an inward change. Where those who steal, can’t steal anymore; and those who gossip, just can’t gossip anymore; and those who think evil of others – just cannot do so anymore; and those who are angry and bitter, find joy. Revival does not happen, and you wonder if anything happened. The result of revival is glaring. It is a change. It is life changing, and it stays with you and in you. Revival is not fleeting. The motive of revival is to make us like Christ; revival is not about making money. Revival is the raw power of God being evident. Revival is when man gets out of the way; when our selfishness, pride, ruthlessness, insecurities – get buried. If not buried, then what is the revival about? Revival is maintaining joy in the midst of; regardless of what you are in the midst of. Revival is maintaining an assurance despite of; regardless of the despite of. Revival is not because of something. It is the because of itself. Revival itself is because of God; and its timing is God’s.

I see many places in need of revival; places such as San Francisco – which is ridden with homelessness and mental issues. And I see the need also in Florida, where though there are churches on every corner – yet people are lost, seeking, on drugs and spiteful of each other. Every place and everyone is in need of revival.

My prayer is that God who is the Author and Finisher will have mercy and make the time now. My prayer is that God will please send His Holy Spirit to cleanse the land and heal His people; such that there will be no doubt that this RVEIVAL is truly a REVIVAL; and that this is GOD. When this occurs, then the people will change, hearts will be healed, and many will be set free.
