The bar of integrity, holiness, righteousness, faithfulness, love, is so low in the world today. The bar has hit the ground and is now sinking. God is so little to some, and yet He is big to others.

There is a difference when we make God little, than when we allow Him to be great. When we make God great, our bar will be high, because He makes it high. This reminds me of the two ways: the hard way and the easy way. The easy way leads to condemnation, and many find it because the bar is so low. The hard way leads to life, and only few find it because the bar is so high. Indeed there are many people who have made God so little, minute, minuscule and irrelevant; because they are on the easy way.

And because of this fact: you are more likely to come across someone who curses than someone who does not; You are more likely to come across someone who is engaged in sexual immorality than not; you are more likely to see a proud person than a lowly person; you are more likely to see an angry person than a joyful person; you are more likely to see a stingy person than a giver; you are more likely to see someone who is not living for God than see one who loves Him and is living for Him.

And so that is why He called you, and chose you. He did this so that your light may shine in this dying world. The world’s bar is low; but ours shouldn’t be low. God will help us to keep it high, and go the hard way that leads to life.
