Going into the deep

The deep is the depth of God. The deep is the glory of God. The deep is where all natural power is totally reduced. The deep is where God MUST be glorified. The deep is where miracles happen. The deep is where valleys are filled and mountains are brought low. The deep is God’s answer to your problems.

The deep is not for everybody. It is for the obedient. It is not the first place to go to. It is not even a place you think of going to. Peter was frustrated in Luke 5:4-6 because he had worked hard all day as a fishermen and caught nothing. Jesus answered his problems: go to the deep.
Can you imagine being unsuccessful at something? Now imagine being unsuccessful in your job. Imagine being unsuccessful in something you should be successful at. Now imagine being unsuccessful in your marriage. Yes, being unsuccessful in your parenting. You find that you have given this child all you have and yet he or she is not getting it right. You have spoken life, advised them, and yet they keep on taking the wrong turn. Imagine you have worked so hard in this business, kept late hours, trusted God, and yet it seems you are not successful.

And yes you are about to give up. You have tried, what is the point in carrying on? And then you hear God say ‘go into the deep. Cast your net onto the deep’. I believe God is telling you to put your net into the deep. He is encouraging you that it is not night time for you. It is not time to pull down the curtains. You still have victory in you. You still have praise in you. You still have a song!

Jesus never gives up. We must be ready to go into the deep.

At times that deep place is the answer to all your hurt and your disappointment. The deep place is the answer to years of seeking and searching. Though you do not know where the deep leads, I encourage you not to lean on your own understanding. That deep place where the natural realm has no answer, but the spirit does. That is where God is calling your heart. In your life you will find that the deep is where your answer is. We keep looking at the surface, but the answer is truly in the deep.
