The sleepy, greedy and lying prophet

We are in that sleepy time; that drowsy time; that lying time. We are in that time where people will see and and yet not see! They will hear, and yet not understand.

We are in a day and age where many prophets are sleepy, greedy and lying. Despite these qualities, they have gone in to the midst of the people and are lying and turning them away from God.. They are speaking words that are giving people false truths and enabling error in many peoples’ lives. They say a lie is true; and truth is a lie. You will see and hear them. Their tone is the loudest and the most visceral. They are fat because they are not spiritually fit. They are sleepy because they are dull of hearing the truth. They are greedy because they are hungry for self-gain. And they are lying because there is no truth in them.

And so what must be done? Believers must grow up. Believers must develop a backbone. Believers must know the word and use the word to test everything they believe. Romans 12:2 asks us to know the will of God. We must know the will of God so we are not deceived. We must know the word of God so we are ready when a half-truth presents itself to us. We must use the word to discard what is biblically false. We must be like the Bereans who dug and excavated the word of God. They purposed to know the truth.

It is dangerous to go along like a herd with all we see. It is dangerous to stand with others at the expense of standing with God. We cannot be like the people of Babel who stood together against God’ will. We see how God came against them.

I encourage you to test all things and do not assimilate error in your life.
