You bring hope with each rising sun

Every morning we can count on the sun to rise again and peel back the darkness, revealing what’s been so hard to see and understand in its absence. There is a sweetness in the purity of the morning. There is a vulnerability displayed by nature as the birds give their songs and everyone wakes up. It’s the hour of stillness and simply being, before we find our motives and motions. It is faithful and accepting. It never fails to break through, just like our Father.

We all have our nights. We either sleep and shut down, or we’re up taking advantage of the absence of expectation and accountability, thinking nobody is around to see; we then tip toe back to the comfort of home, once we’ve worn ourselves out, expecting to keep the secrets with the night. But in just a few hours, the sun starts to appear. The Lord is gracious to not leave us concealed and ashamed in secret. He shines His light and reveals our reality in complete sweetness, with the singing birds chirping away. He feeds us. He dresses us with our needs and prepares us to face the day. He sets us on our way which He has put before us. He gives us motive and a word to carry to others. He is proud of us when we aren’t. He shines His light brightly on us. Though scary for us, the end result is the revelation that at our very best we are still nothing, and therefore the pressure is off with His utter acceptance of His prized creation. His love and igniting whisper gives us what we need to show His glory in our day to whomever should cross our path.

You have nothing to justify, nothing to defend, nothing to convince yourself of; you have a passionate Lover of your soul. Enjoy the day set before you, and should you fall, anticipate the wonderful Caretaker who returns with each rising of the sun. Take a leap into this handcrafted life.
