Your skyline

Your skyline

I was listening to Lauren Daigle’s song ‘Once and for all’, and she was singing to God to help her to lay it down in that place. She said let it be a place where she dies with Him, is crucified, where God is lifted high, and her kingdom fall once and for all.

Do you wish for such a place my friend? Do you wish also once and for all to get to a place where your kingdom is brought down, where your palace is demolished, where only God is lifted high? You have tried for so long and your kingdom remains standing. It stands right next to God’s in your life. You can’t get out of the way of God. You hold onto Him and to yourself. Lauren was singing out of her heart and longing for a place and time when that kingdom of hers will crumble, and it will only be God’s kingdom in her life. She was singing of a skyline where only God’s building will be standing. She pleaded with God to bring her to the end of herself so she can experience what it must be like to only have God standing in her life.

Can you imagine that? Yes, to only have God standing in your life. To only have God in control. To only have God’s word guiding you. To only have God’s word leading you. To watch all the other altars melt like wax. Lauren was indeed singing what many want to sing, but have problems being able to sing it, because it seems more secure to hold on to something else AND God.

I am singing that song today. Let my kingdom fall once and for all. Let my fear fall once and for all. Let my pride fall once and for all. Let all my insecurities fall once and for all. Let only God’s altar rise in the skyline of my life. Will it not be glorious if all of us could sing this song together; join our voices and sing it before Him. Won’t it be a great defeat for the enemy when all he can see and will see is the altar of God in our skyline. When you visit New York, the skyline is laced with many skyscrapers. The One World Trade Center is the tallest, 432 Park Avenue is the second tallest in New York. The New York skyline is forever forming, and no doubt another tallest will be built.

Why are they called skyscrapers? They are scrapping at the sky. The intent is to be the tallest and the dominant. Tomorrow another will be built that will be taller than today’s tallest.

Now I am speaking spiritually. I am speaking of our spiritual skyline and landscape. Can you imagine when we all sing to Him that we want only His altar to remain; can you imagine how glorious our skyline will be; can you imagine what great victory spiritually and naturally that would be?
