Awake up O sleeper

Awake up O sleeper

Fragrant warm air greeted me as I opened the patio door. Glorious sunshine, blue skies and flowering trees immediately lift my spirit! I looked up at the sky and said “Thank you Father for this beautiful day!”

Conditions presented themselves as a spring day, but it wasn’t. It was still winter according to the calendar.

Isn’t that how the enemy is sometimes? He comes clothed in an attractive, dazzling and enticing way; even playing on your emotions. He’s crafty. He doesn’t know you like the Father knows you, but he knows enough to ensnare you. He wants to catch you off guard and distract you from the glorious plan the Lord has set before you each day. He has a way of twisting even the beauty of God. It’s so important to be awake and alert; with our eyes and ears engaged continually with the beauty and plans God has all around us. This earth and every creation God created is good and He has given it to us to enjoy. The time we are living in is a time of awakening in the hearts of his Sons and Daughters. The Lord can break through for us at any time in the “winter seasons” of our lives giving us beautiful spring days in our spirits. The sleepy Church is being stirred by signs, wonders and miracles. He is getting our attention. Wooing our hearts and awakening our spirits. Just like the warm fragrant air and beautiful sunshine that greeted me and engaged my physical state, as well as aroused my senses and spirit. This is what The Lord is doing to us. Starting personal revivals all over; spreading like fire. Wake up o sleeper!

Ephesians 5:11-21 says “Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.

For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead. And Christ will shine on you.”

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.

The Lord wants us to enjoy what He has given us but He also urges us to be alert and sober. Keeping our minds set on Him and on the things above while walking in freedom, power and authority here on earth. We have a responsibility to be on guard and guard our hearts while enjoying this beautiful life He has given us. Enjoy the view and breathe in the beautiful fragrant air, but stay grounded in Him. Keep your standards raised according to His principles and walk in harmony with the Father of all creation. Set your affection on Him and thank Him for each day as it is a gift. Embrace the beauty of our Lord and His creation in the winter seasons of your life. They are just that, a season. Beautiful blooms and sunshine will always follow when the Lord is your beginning, middle and end. We must persevere and hold to our hope of Jesus Christ

Keeps these words from the Prophet Isaiah alive in your hearts: Isaiah 58:8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

We will all have to give an account one day, even for our idle words, so take heed of the words from 1 Peter 4:7 “The end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore, be sound-minded and self-controlled for the purpose of prayer, staying balanced and focused on the things of God so that your communication will be clear, reasonable, specific and pleasing to Him.”
