God’s love was more than my son’s pain
My son was about to pull his wisdom teeth out
We prayed
God answered
And then
Afterwards
The pain came
Like a torrent
It rolled in
Like a tsunami
Uncontrollable
An unwelcome guest taking resident
It almost knocked my son senseless
He did not want to rely so much on medication
And then He took some
He was measured
He said let us pray
And we prayed again
But the pain did not subside
I saw him writhe
And walk around with the pain
And we prayed
And then he closed his eyes
I asked, ‘how are you?’
He said ‘I will be okay, I am learning to deal with the pain’
I saw his trick
To understand your pain was to beat it.
I paused and wondered
What wisdom from a young kid
And then I remembered Psalm 8:2 ‘Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hath thou ordained strength…’
I saw that this was God’s wisdom
Understand your pain, and you will beat it
