Impossible things

Impossible things

There are so many impossible things for us. They are out of our reach. We cannot do them even if we tried. And yet nothing will be impossible for God.

At times, we need a bill paid; we need a debt written-off; we need a healing from an incurable disease; we need a miracle for our children. Yes, the mountain is so great, steep and you are unable to climb it.

In 2 Kings 4, there was a widow who was in fear of her sons being taken away due to her deceased husband’s debt. The creditors had made threats and she was pretty scared. And so she went to Elisha the prophet crying for help. He asked her about what she had that was of worth. She could not think of anything…nothing. When prompted, she said she had a little oil. The prophet told her to go around her neighborhood and borrow vessels, both big and small. She was to borrow empty vessels. She was to bring them all into her home, and then expect God to do the impossible. That little oil was going to be used!

I want to encourage you today, that little oil is enough in the hands of God. Many people are not able to see a miracle because they believe what they have is not enough. What you have does not have to start out great; it does not have to start out mighty. However when God touches it with the power over impossibilities, what you have will suddenly become enough! Not only enough, it will be more than enough! Just like the five loaves and two fish that got broken after Jesus’ touch; thousands of people ate – and there was still enough to take home!

Give God what you have and expect God to do the miracle and wonder.
