Make room
I want to encourage you to make room for God. I want to encourage you that this must be of utmost importance to you and your walk in faith.
Many Christians fail to make room for God. But God needs room in order to operate. God needs a capacity to fill; to move; to do great works. God needs a place where He will take hold and do great works of power and might. Just like God needed the Red Sea to show the people that nothing will be impossible for Him. Some would say the Red Sea is so great. Not to God. God is greater and bigger. God knew He would dry up that sea. He knew He would heal that blind man in John 9. That man made room for the anointing of God to flow, such that the power that is in His name came alive and took away his ailment.
In 2 Kings 3, there were three kings going to war against the king of Moab. They found camaraderie among each other. They were going to settle a score against an irrelevant foe. However as they went, they discovered that there was no water. And without water, both they and their animals wouldn’t survive. And so Jehoshaphat the king of Judah prompted them to enquire of God about their fate. Elisha the prophet was at hand and he instructed them to dig trenches. For what? To hold water. But there was no water? Well, not in the eyes of God. This scripture has helped me many times to keep my perspective about God intact. Dig trenches! Just dig trenches! Elisha said to them, ‘there will be no wind or rain; but there will be water!’ How? If they made room for the water, God would put the water there!
We must dig trenches and make room for God. If you need a miracle, then make room. Be the room if need be! God cannot perform a miracle out of nothing. You must be blind first, to receive sight. You must be deaf first, to receive hearing. A miracle does not happen out of nothing. He does not work like that. He needs a jar; a vessel; a conduit. Just like when He turned water into wine! Yes, there were the need, the jars and the water! Before the feeding of the five thousand, there were the five loaves of bread and two fish and the five thousand hungry people. Many of us want a miracle; we forget to make room first!
