Wash me, Lord

Wash me, Lord

Wash me Lord with the water of your Word.
Let your waves wash over my soul, as you purify my heart.

As rocks are purged by the constant beating of the ocean waves;
So knit your heartbeat to mine—that with every beat,
The unseemly things attached to my soul, will be washed away.

Let me understand and know through the trials of this life,
That I am being molded, as those rocks in the water;
Little by little, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little.

As your waves splash and recede—only to come again,
Help me to learn how to rest in You.
Teach me to rise and fall, on the waters of this life.

And as I come to learn of your love in the midst of each pounding
Wave; lead me in your gentle love, through each season of my
Life; that I may count it all joy, Lord, as you are making me Yours.
