The pain of this pandemic…

The pain of this pandemic… I woke up to this message on my phone today: “Pastor Linda, my cousin just died from Coronavirus. His wife has it; his sister and her husband have it. Please tell people to take this seriously!” This plaque is so real… And so my husband (Kayode) and I fell on our knees praying. Our hearts are so intense with a burden for ourselves, for God’s children and God’s creation. Oh, what plea we must bring to God’s door! What plea for mercy we must have today! What clutter we must remove from our hearts! What focus we must have on God. We will not let Him go until He has mercy on us. We will not let Him go until He blesses us again. Lord, look on us as we repent of our wrong; look at us and do not turn. You are so faithful. Faithful to hear. We cry out as we are so weak. For no one is strong. No one is wise. No one is sufficient. No one is able. No government is powerful. No government is wise. No government has the answer. They have found they are weak. They have found out they are mere men. They have found out they are unable to save themselves. They have found that they are like grass, here today, gone tomorrow. Oh, how weak we are and yet we thought all was down to us. Oh Lord, we now know. We now see. We now feel. We are now aware. We have fallen short of Your righteousness; we have fallen short of Your holiness. Lord, we have not been faithful. Look upon us, we are still Your creation. For You said “we are the apple of Your eye.” Restore us, O Lord, simply because of Your love and compassion for us. Have mercy. For You never change. Your love is more than the ocean. Look upon us with Your love again Lord, and heal the land. Amen. Linda Faith Linda is a prolific writer.
