Walking by faith
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
What are you believing God for? Have you given up all hope that it will ever come to pass in your lifetime? When you ask God for something, are you believing in your heart that God can really come through for you, or are you wavering and doubting in your faith?
I want you to be encouraged in the Lord in knowing that He never fails. We must always remember that Rome was not built in a day. We must go through many seasons in our lives before we are ready for the things we are asking God for. Acts 1:7 says and He said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in His own power.
What would be accomplished if God just handed over everything we asked Him for? God knows everything and He knows when we are ready and when we are not for certain things. He knows when something will be good for us, and when they would not be.
Life is a process and we start out by crawling; then baby steps, progressing on to bigger steps. In other words, growing and maturing until we are ready for bigger and better things. We conjure up in our minds that we need this or we want that – but God knows if we will ever be ready for certain things. Some things or even blessings can be disastrous if granted to certain people.
Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get everything you are asking for. God knows what is best for us, and He has so much better planned for you. We must trust Him. Some years ago, there was a TV program titled “Father knows best.” Indeed there were no truer words spoken. Through faith, we understand that the ages were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which appear. (Hebrews 11:3)
God has given us all faith the size of a mustard seed. It all comes down to what we do with it. Will we just let it lie dormant on the inside of us or will we exercise it so that it grows? If we don’t have faith, we cannot please God. If there is no faith, there is no hope. We must believe that God is who He says He is, and that He can do all things, else we have no hope.
We know that Jesus died on the cross to save the world according to the word of God, but we did not see it with the visual eye. We believe in our hearts that it is the truth so we must always walk by faith and not by sight.
Hebrews 11 tells us about the different people and what they achieved by faith during biblical times. I encourage you to delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4) I leave this word with you; faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) I pray that you would be able to abide in God and God in you.
