Your obstacle is working for you
Obstacles are things that are meant to block you, hinder you and frustrate you. In Samuel 18:27, Saul put an obstacle in David’s way. For David to marry his daughter Micah in 1 Samuel 18:25, he asked David to bring him 100 Philistines’ foreskins. His exact plan was to have David killed at the hands of the Philistines. But God was with David, and so David was in the overflow. He did not only kill 100, he killed 200 Philistines! He did more than was asked of Him. 1 Samuel 18:28 tells us that Saul realized that the Lord was with David and he became even more afraid of David. It dawned on Saul that no matter how steep the obstacles were, David would surmount them. He was destined for success. His success was already written before he started battle. God was with David, and God was against those that came against him. And that is why we must be careful who we go into battle with. You cannot go into battle with someone God is for, as Gamaliel said in Acts 5:38-39. ‘If their activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.’
You have to be on the right side of God, and if you are, your cause will be taken care of by God. He will take care of the obstacles people purposely put in your way to stop and hinder you. Gamaliel was correct; no one can stop you if you are doing God’s purpose. I see it in my life. Many circumstances and situations should have stopped my husband and I. Many people’s low opinion of us should have stopped us. Even financial stress should have stopped us. But no! Praise God, He was not having it! He was not letting go of His promise to us. He was not letting us fail! He was not letting a Saul have the upper hand. Praise God for evermore! Amen!
In David’s case, I see that the more Saul tried to hinder him the more successful he became. The less money you have, the more you can accomplish. The more doors are shut in your face, the greater the doors that God opens for you. The more people stand against you, the greater the favor on your life. They just cannot win against you and God.
And because of this I encourage you to stick with God and stick with His plan for your life. He will accomplish His word and purpose. He is faithful forever more! Amen.
