The day is finally gone…

The day is finally gone…

In the quietness, Lord, I hear You.
In the plaintiff silence, I feel You.
You are here. This I know.

It’s so hard to quiet my soul—turning off the inner motors
that cry out to continue running.

The ticking clock of my mind’s thoughts, flitting around and through my mind
as prisms of light resounding on the mirrors inside my head.

Finally…I am quiet…still, and I know You are here with me.
Expecting nothing, demanding not a thing, only to be; with me.

It’s silent all around—yet so peaceful.
I feel You all around, guilt and urgency are gone.
There is no rush to do anything or to try to be.
I’m just sitting…being with You.

Time passes.
Day is done.

I sleep, resting in Your arms of love.

I feel very privileged to have this opportunity to write for Jewels Magazine.
