God said that I am doing the right thing

I was speaking with a dear woman after church. She began to tell me of her experience during the previous week. She said, ‘Pastor Linda, I was contemplating paying my tithe last week. I knew if I went ahead and paid it, my rent was hitting my account the next day. I knew I did not have enough. And so I asked God what I should do. And He told me to do the right thing. And so I wrote a check to pay my tithe. What I had forgotten was that another payment was going to be deducted from my account the same day as my rent. And so two deductions and the check sent my account into the red by the amount of the two charges the bank applied to my account. I was very demoralized. And then I had a thought to call the bank and plead with them to credit back one of the charges since I have been a customer for such a long while. As I stated my case to the lady begging that they restore one of the charges, the lady told me to hold on for a while, to see if there was anything she could do. I waited. And then she came back on the line, these were her exact words. ‘I will not be able to restore one of your charges as you have asked, I will restore both.’’ The lady spoke with grateful eyes. ‘You should have seen how I felt, pastor. And then God spoke to me again, ‘You did the right thing.’’
