One day we will apologize to our kids

I do believe it. We are leaving our children such a mess. We are leaving them a new normal; a level of depravity that I never knew could be possible. We are leaving our children with an environment where Victoria Secret boldly places huge pictures of scantily clad women in their underwear in their window dressing, with suggestive poses here and there. We are seeing such level of loss of righteousness such that our children will soon have to come to a place where restrooms are not gender specific anymore. We are living in a time where children are literally murdered in their beds because of stray bullets in the neighborhoods of Chicago; we are living in a time when to be hostile to one another is the new normal. Our movies are laden with sexual vulgarity, violence and trash talk. Our children drive to school and peering through the window see numerous gentlemen clubs which boldly write ‘fully nude’ on their signage. Four, five and six year olds on their way to school who have only just learnt to read can now read ‘sex toys sold here.’ We celebrate harshness, greed and lack of character. We are leaving our children very weak churches; very angry churches; very sinful churches; we are leaving them churches and homes where no prayer is going up to heaven. We have become so weak, diluted with the world. We are leaving our children with a planet which we show very little care for; we misuse it and expect it to be okay. We are leaving our children with less hope than we had!

I do believe we should look our children straight in the eye and apologize for all we have done to them. We have wronged them. We must bear the responsibility for our lukewarm attitude towards God. And when we repent, may a time of refreshing will come us and heal the land.
