Thanking God for 2018

2018 year is over, Lord. Thank you for a year that many times tried us to the core, and in it you taught us, and led us. Yes, you kept us and gave us hope, love and joy as you walked with us in the midst of sorrow, loss, grief and heartache. For you are faithful and always there with us to help us if we will just ask. You are our faithful God.

Sweet Savior, you offer your peace to us every day, as you reach out, drawing us, asking us to let you wrap us in your arms of love and comfort when we are lonely, sad, broken, or crushed by life. You long to encourage and strengthening us, if we will only stand still long enough to be held.

You delight in our coming to you with every detail of our lives. You never grow weary of our pleas in prayer, but instead you welcome them. Others may turn away when we need an ear to hear our hearts, but not you Lord. We can come to you with everything, and you give the comfort that no one else can, deep in our soul and spirit.

You picked us up when we were broken, wounded and you graced us with your salvation. You gave us your life, your love, your everything, when you died on that cross for us.

Thank you for the breath in our lungs, the skip in our step, the hope in our soul, the wonder of your love, and the knowledge that you are the God who sees us as precious enough to die for.
