The Potter’s hand

The Potter’s hand

There is much talk in the Christian community about the Potter. Yes, His hands, His house, His clay, His technique of kneading the clay. We accept the assumption that we, His people, are the clay and that God is the potter.

My thinking is that the Potter’s hand is love. Love kneads us and molds us into God’s most useful creation. It was for love that God gave His only begotten Son and it was love that took Christ His Son to the cross.

Jesus’ only two commandments were to love God and love each other. For love indeed makes our joy full. That which is of love makes our joy full. And that which is of the other brings sadness, despondency and dejection. Love is a sacrifice; God the Father giving His son, just as Abraham was willing to give his only son. Abraham’s son Isaac was the key to God’s promise to building the nation. Jesus is God’s promise to building the kingdom.

All what is not love MUST be kneaded out of us. When all that is NOT love shows up, it must be discarded! We must not tolerate such. The word of God is clear about love, patience, kindness, long suffering, goodness etc. We cannot amend this truth, and we cannot repeal it. This is the word of God. If you do not love, you are not abiding in Him.

So this year as we move on in the year 2017 with God, I encourage you to allow Him to have His way in you. Let Him create powerful expressions of love in your life.
