Your life and footprints…

Your life and footprints

Go and walk on the beach; any beach. Watch your feet meet the sand. And then look back at where you have been and you will see that your feet has left well defined prints. In fact, you can trace where you walked. The sand took the full force of your your weight and made a print telling the whole world you have been. The sand molded your actions for others to see.

I believe that is life. Everyday our lives make a print on this earth. We make prints everyday of our lives. The type of print we make depends on us. When we treat others well, with gentleness and care, we leave a print. And when we treat others harshly and let them know we don’t really care, we leave a print also. We left a print yesterday, on someone’s heart. We left a print due to what we said, wrote, and how we acted.

A day will come when we can no longer make those prints. Just like John McCain, his days of making prints are over. But the prints he has made speak of the life he led. Now is the time to make our prints, Now is the time to make prints that impact and bring change. Think about it for a moment; what type of print are you making? And if someone else were to be given the opportunity to look at your prints, would they be able to learn from you? If your life were a book opened in years to come, what will your readers make of your print? A well-written book?

Let me expound on what a well-written book means; a well-written book does not mean a book without mistakes. It does not mean a book filled with perfections. A well-written book is one that is able to capture downs and ups; mistakes and victories; I want tears and laughs; sin and godly sorrow; repentance and submission to God. A well-written book is one that shows a life progressively being yielded and used by God. A well-written book when read should and must inspire love, compassion, and a desire to want to do better. Our print on this life with the help of God should and must inspire someone else to want to place their feet where ours once was. Yes, not because we led perfect lives, but because we pursued to do the will of God.

I pray your impact will be a well-written book. Amen.
